LEAP INTO ACTION

Leap Mission Trip
January 17-25, 2025

LEAP is organizing a mission trip to Liberia with the aim of supporting and encouraging the efforts of the local school and church.

This initiative seeks to provide help and support to key projects that will make a sustained impact on the country.

You can contribute to this mission by providing financial support and with your ongoing prayers.

Your involvement, in any capacity, will greatly benefit the mission and the people it aims to serve.

Key Projects for the Mission Trip

Sustainable Food supply

Liberia relies heavily on imported food, with over 90 percent of its consumption coming from abroad. Developing local food sources is crucial for economic self-sufficiency. LEAP is aiding this effort by establishing a pineapple farm in Bomi County and constructing goat pens to produce goat milk products. This small beginning aims to grow into a significant source of food and income in the future.

A Durable Building

In the western world, churches often rent spaces in schools or offices. Liberia lacks these shareable commercial spaces, so new buildings start as open-air structures, subject to high temperatures. The planned structure in Bopulu will provide a regular meeting place, but with a six-month rainy season and up to 16.5 feet of annual rainfall, a solid roof is crucial. This basic structure will be improved as resources allow.

Clean Water

Access to clean water is a major challenge in many Liberian communities due to inefficient or non-existent public infrastructure. Installing wells will provide safe drinking water and reduce waterborne diseases. Unlike in the US, Liberians cannot easily find clean water in stores or fountains. These wells will make churches and community centers vital sources of clean water for surrounding areas, greatly extending their impact.
